Oracle Cards - Fortune Telling

Out of all the methods this is the one I use most. It is one of my favourites and I love the cards messages. If you find Tarot slightly difficult to understand you will probably find Oracle cards easier. The main message is printed on the card and there is a more detailed message in the book inside. You can choose which type of cards you want to use. There are many different ones such as Archangels, Angels and Goddesses. This is good for people who like to connect with different deities etc. Me and the people that i know that use the cards tend not to let other people use them, if you want good answers for yourself then keep the pack personal to you. Let only your energy on them. Another good thing to do is keep your cards in a special box some place they wont be disturbed or spilled. I keep mine on my altar. If you want to give readings to other people with the cards i would suggest having another pack of these cards for that purpose. Cleanse them with white light after each reading and gently knock the pile of cards three times to get rid of any energy left behind.

The Method

Take the pack of cards between your hands and shuffle them gently with your eyes closed. Ask the Archangel's (or whoever the cards are on) to answer your question.

Keep shuffling and ask your question.

You may hear a voice telling you to stop, feel tingling or warmth in your hands or feel your hands just stop. Take the three cards from the top of the deck.

The first card will be referring to your past and what you have to reach your second card the present, this seconds card will be showing you what is going on right now and then the third card will show the future, what is going to happen.

You can also just take one card if you like from the top for certain questions that you feel don't need the past, present and future.

There are other different layouts for the cards in the book you get with your oracle cards these can be used for certain situations or certain questions.

Crystal Ball (Crystalomancy) - Fortune Telling

Looking into a crystal ball and telling the future is probably one of the most conjured images when telling the future. Unfortunately I have never had much luck with my crystal ball, but there are different methods suited to different people. So try and see which method works for you. This method one of the most mystical and is often associated with psychics. You are meant to receive answers by visualizations that appear within the crystal. These may be colours, and image or even a symbol. To understand the answers I would recommend buying a kit (The one pictured is the one I have)

The Method

Some people in preparation to reading the crystal ball like to meditate or call on a special deity to help them receive answers to their questions. Others just empty there minds of irrelevant thoughts. If you're not familiar with meditating or deities then it would be easier to focus your attention on emptying your mind first.

When you have done this, let your eyes rest on the crystal. Make sure the crystal is on a blank surface on its stand, though some people do like to hold the ball whilst they read it as it gives the ball their energy.

Focus your entire attention on the ball. Don't let errant thoughts creep into your mind, it will sound easy but you will be surprised by how actively the mind thinks without us realising. You may need to practice emptying your mind a few times before doing this, if you find this particularly hard.

Once you have kept your focus on the crystal ball for a minute or two ask your question.

Answers may appear to different people in different ways, a colour for instance may seem to 'wash' over the ball or it may appear to like a milky density swirling inside the ball. Images may appear hovering on the inside of the ball or maybe they will move. It is different for everyone, just try not to let your mind be distracted by what is happening. Just accept whatever vision comes to you.

Having a book on this will help you immensely as answers may not always be clear.

Chinese Fortune Sticks - Fortune Telling

This is the most recent method of fortune telling I have come across, and I think one of the most detailed. For this you will need to buy the fortune sticks and the book explaining the answer to each stick ( the one in the picture is the one I have)

This is an ancient Chinese way of telling fortune, on each stick there is a number. You find the number of the stick in the book and there will be quite a detailed answer.

The Method

It is good to take a few moments to clear your head, do this however you need. By breathing deeply or simply sitting quietly for a few minutes. You need to know two things. Whether you already know the answer to the question you are about to ask and what you want the answer to be. You have to really try and dismiss the desired outcome you want because it could affect the fortunes telling. You have to be able to accept the answer the sticks give you whether it is the answer you wanted or not.

After preparing your head take the shaker (the container holding the sticks) in both your hands. Angle it so it is facing around ninety degrees upwards. (If you get the kit pictured there is a diagram in the book showing you how to do this)

Begin to shake the container while asking your question, then slowly,whilst shaking, turn the container upright so only a few of the sticks are poking out.

Take the stick that is poking out the furthest, this is your answer.

Using a Pendulum (Dowsing) - Fortune Telling

Pendulums are a lovely little tool to have around. They are very simple to use and easy to know what answers are being given. The only downside with a pendulum is you have to ask questions that can be answered with a 'Yes' or 'No' answer.

The Method

Holding the method between your thumb and finger keep your hand still and ask the pendulum to show you 'Yes'. When you have asked this the pendulum should either swing one way, or spin either counter-clockwise or clockwise. Then ask the pendulum to show you 'No' The pendulum should swing or spin in the opposite direction to yes.

Once you know which way is 'Yes' and which way is 'No' you can ask your question.

Keep your brain clear and calm and try not to think of the outcome you want from your question (some people unknowingly move there hand to get the outcome they want if they are thinking about the answer being 'Yes' or 'No'.)

Concentrate on the point of the pendulum and ask your question in a clear voice either out loud or in your head. If this is your first try you may have to ask three times, as trying to only think about your question can be hard at first.

Once your pendulum has answered you can ask twice more to check that you haven't accidentally moved the pendulum whilst holding it.

Try not to ask more than three times even if it isn't an answer you like, accept what you have been told.

Remember that what you have been told may not be right, the future changes and if your not used to using a pendulum excitable or nervous energy may affect your answer.

Which is why it is important to keep a clear head.

If you find you ask the same question but the pendulum keeps changing the answer try cleansing your pendulum, by picturing white light running through it.

If it was sold to you in a shop its likely that other people have tried the pendulum out and left different energy on it.

Fortune Telling Techniques

Everybody wants to know there future. Asking questions like, how is your day going to be? Am i going to get that job?

There are many different ways of fortune telling; scrying, tarot and the I Ching are just a few.

In my next few posts I will be explaining some of the techniques that I've used before.

If you've never told a fortune before or tried asking a question using a fortune telling tool, do not fear i will post simple ways of using these different methods.

For most witches familiar with fortune telling I'm sure most will know the methods, please feel free to leave a comment on anything you do differently or any different ways you tell fortunes that i havn't mentioned here.

Creating your own Cleansing Spell

In this section I will show you some of the things most commonly used in Cleansing Spells to allow you to create your own spell, as a spell created by you is the strongest kind.

Firstly cleansing can come into everyday life in very simple ways. Things such as burning oils or even sprinkling a certain type of oil into your carpet or mixing an oil into water to mop wood or tiles. This is just one example there are many other things used to such as herbs, incense and candles. Once you know what some of these different things can do, you can use them within your Cleansing Spell to make your spell more personal.

Oils For Cleansing

Chamomile - For inner peace

Clary Sage (a particular favourite of mine) - balances mind and emotions

Eucalyptus - Clears negativity

Majoram - Calms agitated mind

Vetiver - Aids stillness (The oil of tranquillity)

Herbs For Cleansing

Calamus Root - Protection in travel, home/family and money.

Chamomile - Relaxation against stress (this is also great for child birth, aches and healing wounds - Chamomile is very versatile)

Elderflowers - Sending back evil energies, banishing negativity (this is used sometimes for exorcism)

Lavender - Purifying (May make you feel drowsy , is used a lot in sleep spells)

Lemon Verbena - Aura cleansing

Penny Royal - Home happiness

Candle Colours for Cleansing

White (known as the cleansing candle) - Purification, peace and spirituality

Brown - Solves problems, especially at home. Also can protect pets.

Green - To bring healing, luck and/or prosperity to the home

Making your own chant is a good way to also strengthen your spell, talk about banishing negativity and allowing love and light to enter your home. Many end their spells with either 'So Mote it Be' or 'Blessed Be'

It is your decision how you work your spells and you should do what you feel most comfortable with.

Cleansing Spells Information

Cleansing Spells have been used for thousands of years to make a living space cosy and free from bad energy. There are so many different variations of these spells to help make a place feel safe. I hope you have looked through the spells I have offered so far for cleansing as they really will benefit your life, giving you peace in your home and helping you have a smoother flow to things.

These spells are designed to clear away any negative energy which could be left over from a row, a grouchy person or just a general feeling of depression within the home. The results are always good with any type of this spell, most allow love and light to flow freely in your home.
